  • Encourage communication and sharing between comic creators on an international level

Participation Fees:

  • Local Participant: SGD20 per submission
  • Overseas Participant: SGD10 per submission (*postage fees to be borne by participant)

Submission Guidelines:

Competition Period: 28th January 2019 -15th April 2019
  1. Artwork must not be bigger than A3 size (42X29.7cm)
  2. Artwork can be of the following:
    • Illustration
    • A one-page comic (not exceeding 8 panels)
  3. For hand-drawn illustrations done in traditional medium, you are required to submit your ORIGINAL artwork.
  4. For digital illustrations, you are required to submit your PRINTED artwork.

Competition Rules and Regulations:

  • Each participant can submit more than ONE artwork.
  • Participants are to ensure that they are the original creators of their artworks.
  • To ensure fairness and transparency, participants are to refrain from disclosing any details of their submissions on all social media platforms before the announcement of competition results.
  • All artworks MUST NOT contain unlicensed/non-original/offensive content or nudity.
  • Any artwork which infringes upon another person’s intellectual property rights will be disqualified. It is your responsibility to check this in advance.
  • The organizer reserves the rights for all artworks to be used for publicity and promotional purposes.
  • The organizer reserves the rights to disqualify any participant who flouts the competition rules.
  • The organizer reserves all rights and discretion to the final competition results.
  • All winners will be notified via email by the organizer.

Prize Giving Ceremony

Time, Date and Location of Prize-giving Ceremony:

2nd June 2019, Sunday
Venue: Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre (Concourse)

Starting from 11am –5pm, local participants can collect their artworks, certificates of participation and their copies of the Printed Volume of Winning Artworks on the day of the prize-giving ceremony at the above-mentioned location.

Alternatively, local participants can also collect back their artworks from TCZ Studio Pte. Ltd/Comics Society Singapore, starting from 7th June 2019 (Tuesday) till 28th June 2019 (Friday), 9am –6pm on WEEKDAYS only (close on Saturday and Sunday).

All Winning Artworks will be displayed at the one-month long exhibition of the 5th Singapore Original Comics Festival.
